Over the semester, my class dove into the nuances of the Latinx community in the U.S. and explored best practices to responsibly engage and cover the rapidly growing population. After taking the first third of the semester to read and discuss the history and diversity of the Latin diaspora, we had the opportunity to work on advertising and public relations campaigns and write stories to better understand how to successfully reach the Latinx community for newsgathering or targeting in strategic communication campaigns.
